The Labour Party policy on nightclub licensing

Written by Administrator on . Posted in Latest News

The Labour Party‘s response regarding nightclub licensing is:

“The Labour Party recognises the role of the licencing and Nightclub Industry.

To further assist this development, in Budget 2016 the relief was made available up front, thus reducing the cash flow burden of the current rebate scheme.

The Sale of Alcohol Bill which is being prepared will update and streamline the law relating to the sale and consumption of alcohol. This Bill will repeal the Licensing Acts 1833 to 2011, as well as the Registration of Clubs Acts 1904 to 2008, and replace them with provisions more suited to modern conditions. The Bill is intended to modernise and streamline licensing law in order to make it more understandable and user-friendly for the licensed trade, the courts and members of the public.

The development of this Bill would provide an excellent opportunity to examine the issues that you have raised in your email.
